We really enjoyed our stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. Our room overlooked the Grand Canal which was amazing. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel location is perfect. We were able to walk to everything we wanted to see in Venice.

Very friendly staff, great location, but the rooms were not what up to par. I can appreciate the history, but they really need to clean the carpet, and it can use an update some things, without compromising the historic components. Also, we had to run around and try to find an adapter, none in room, and they had none to loan us. Every other hotel in Europe we have stayed in recently has them. As well, no coffee in room, and you couldn’t get any until 7:00, and we were waking up really early with the time difference. Didn’t seem 5 star, or luxurious, but definitely has a lot of history.

Ca’Sagredo was amazing! From the welcome Prosecco, to the beautiful historic rooms overlooking a canal, to breakfast in a Gilded room with Renaissance art on the ceiling, the museum, and the attentive staff in every role in hotel, this place is a timeless gem. It is centrally located and walkable (or boat-able) to all of Venice. The concierge helped us arrange amazing dining reservations and daytime excursions. Ca’Sagredo is one of our favorite hotels in all of Europe!

Reading some of the more critical reviews you would expect a less than satisfactory experiance. For those willing to overlook the lack of pristine conditions one can really apprieciate the authentic ambiance this building conveys. The art work on the Grand vaulted ceilings and walls, old marble and stone, to the blown glass chandlers and Murano glass art and the subdued lighting brings you back to another era. If you have been lucky enough to have visited grand locations in Rome Italy, France, or Cuba you will know what i'm talking about. Dining and banqueting areas are almost magical spaces and a photographers dream for weddings and fashion shoots alike. In house breakfast as well as dinner was to a high standard if only a bit expensive compared to other places nearby but service was friendly and responsive and a good source for helping to arrange transport and tours around the island of Venezia. The Hotel is excellantly located for all the nearby amenities and most things can either be walked too such as the water bus, taxi or nearby gondolas. Where i would have to agree with some other critics is this is not a four or five star hotel, due largely to the much needed maintenance required, but also because of the less than satisfactory cleansness in some areas. After all that said Ca Sagredo hotel has a lot going for it with regard to its historical grandure. If you are able to overlook some little annoying things most would have a very enjoyable experiance. It might not be to everyones liking but it gets my recommendation and i would certainly go again.
