Reviews
We absolutely enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms were always spotless and well-maintained, and the staff – both at the front desk and in the restaurant and bar – were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The warm hospitality and excellent service truly made a difference. Highly recommended for anyone planning to visit Venice!
Pros -Beautifully restored historic building. -Excellent breakfast with warm, friendly staff. Cons -Terrible night’s sleep: The air conditioning repeatedly switched itself off throughout the night. We had to turn it back on more than five times, making for an awful night’s sleep. It felt like sleeping in a hot, stuffy tent. -Disappointing response from reception: When we explained the issue, the receptionist simply asked for our room number and said the system had been reset. As we were checking out in two hours, this was of no benefit to us. There was no apology, empathy or attempt to recover the experience. In a five-star hotel, I would have expected someone to acknowledge the inconvenience and make an effort to ensure we left with a positive impression. -Poor service: On its own this would have been a minor issue, but in the context of the rest of our stay it reinforced a frustrating pattern. I requested an iron several times during our one-night stay and never received one. The hotel has a policy of not leaving irons in rooms overnight for fire safety, which was perfectly understandable, so I asked for it to be brought up the following morning instead. In a five-star hotel, I would have expected that request to be followed through. I reminded the same receptionist again before breakfast, but when we returned to the room it still had not arrived. I asked a third time after breakfast and was again assured it would be sent up, but it never appeared. At checkout, when I said they could cancel the request because we were leaving, the same receptionist seemed surprised, as though it was the first time he had heard about it. Overall The building is beautiful and breakfast was excellent, but the very poor night’s sleep and indifferent service overshadowed everything else. For a five-star hotel, the lack of proactive customer service was particularly disappointing. Unfortunately, I would not stay here again or recommend it.
Excellent! I am very happy to have returned to this hotel. I have discovered very big changes, the services are excellent, the staff was very kind and helpful, La Bauta restaurant is exceptional, the young chef is very talented and involved, the prepared dishes were absolutely delicious. I was happy to discover 5 star services, a vibrant place, with good energy, people who make efforts to make the guests feel special. Congratulations to everyone! Good luck!
Highly, highly recommend. I would give the over 5 stars if I could. My husband and I spent 2 nights here, we were greeted by Gianni who made our entire stay very special. He welcomed us with drinks, gave recommendations on the area and history about the hotel. We received a complimentary upgrade, it was so unexpected and very appreciated! He even booked us private transportation to Murano to visit the glass factory that made all the chandeliers inside the hotel. The restaurant is wonderful and fantastic bar service for late night cocktails. Breakfast every morning was perfect with plenty of options. The hotel is easy accessible by boat, walkable to lots of restaurants and a quick walk to San Marco. We will stay here again.
We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Nani Mocenigo Palace, the staff was very warm and welcoming, in particular Filippo at the front desk, who greeted us and oriented us upon arrival. Filippo was also key in securing a last minute dinner reservation for us on our last night in Venice. Thank you Filippo! I am so grateful to have been able to stay at this storied property, which has been beautifully restored. We would not hesitate to book again.
