The room was quite basic (as to be expected with a 3 star property) but small details like the bathroom: The toilet was so close to the sink that your legs were underneath the sink when sitting on the loo. The shower hand set was broken and pieces of enamel were missing from the bath. There was no shower curtain or screen, so very conscious of getting water everywhere. Please check if the amenities you normally expect in a hotel will be here or not: There are no tea or coffee making facilities, but.. see below! The property was in a perfect location though, a short walk to the waterbus stop, with some great restaurants and cafes nearby. When visiting, you must go to Tonolos a few paces away! We spent some time getting to know some locals and business owners. Advice for any tourists: please be aware of your presence and how you affect other tourists and locals who are trying to go about their day. Just stopping dead while in the middle of a narrow walkway is very frustrating to those behind you. Take time to appreciate that this is a place people live and work, not just a theme park. Appreciate the small things, the differences between your own culture and the Venician way of life, don't be imposing. Thank you so much to the kind and welcoming staff.
Our stay was just fine. unfortunately them have no AC or elevator. Big down side is the fact that its a far walk from the main station, and if you travel with luggage, good luck with that. The hotel itself is ones again, just fine. But for the price, I would expect a bit nicer rooms. Rooms are clean tho, which is the most important for a traveler.
Our room had a slanted roof of which the low point was near the bed. It was hot & stuffy with heaps of mosquito's in the room. We couldn't open a window and when we enquired about the AC they said it wouldn't be switched on until May as they (staff) would be cold. Shower hose did not work so we had to take baths. Location is fabulous and the older lady was doing her best to keep the place clean. Reception staff were pleasant but not friendly.
Location is good not too far from train and bus station. Rooms- take your own shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. Hair dryer in our room was not very good so again take your own. Budget hotel you get what you pay for.
