The staff were friendly and welcoming, which was the highlight. But the rest of the stay fell short. If you book the single room make sure ahead of time it is not on the ground floor. Ground floor rooms are right next to the lobby, and bathroom so it was very noisy despite claims of soundproof walls. There were also quite a few flies in the room, which made it less comfortable. Honestly, the ground floor rooms really shouldn’t be used as guest rooms, given the constant noise and lack of privacy.
An average hotel in the suburbs of Verona. The rooms were ok but a lot of things didn't work. The worst experience was the reception. We stayed there during our school trip to Italy and the receptionist asked for a deposit in cash in case the children damaged anything in the rooms. I consider this totally unacceptable. When we refused to pay they made us wait 45 minutes for breakfast the following day. Plus there was not enough food for us. Certainly don't recommend booking it for school groups.
Anywhere you want to go in Venice is a walk. And over the canal bridges you encounter steps. Navigating your luggage can be a challenge, although porters are available. To have one transport my two suitcases from the train station to the hotel would cost 40 euros. Hotel Tiziano is lovely. The two rooms I’ve had (on two separate occasions) were spacious and comfortable. Nice showers, friendly helpful staff. I’d certainly stay here again even though it seems there may be hotels closer to the station. There are plenty of restaurants and bars around and around here seems quieter. Less people. Really nice!
The hotel is in a great location - around 20 minutes from St Mark's Square but that's no bad thing as there's plenty of local sights to see in the area and on the way to the tourist hotspots. The area was local, quiet, and pleasant. A great base to explore from. The staff on reception were friendly, polite, and very willing to help with the room, and with recommendations. I wish I could remember his name but one chap from Sicily was particularly helpful, although they all were. Faults were taken seriously - our shower wasn't draining on the first morning so we reported it and it was sorted straight away. Breakfast is a basic buffet - more than adequate but nothing flashy. Maria - I think that was her name - makes the best cappuccino I've had at a hotel breakfast as far as I can remember, and I've stayed in some very smart places! I did compliment her on them, they were very good. How nice to get a great coffee with breakfast. The room we had was in a separate building across the way with no view, which was a shame. The room was more than adequate - again nothing flashy, but cleaned well and well-maintained. If I could find anything to critique, a bit more space to put things on, and a safe would be good. But best of all, it was very, very quiet at night - I slept like a log. At home I wear earplugs to sleep but they weren't needed, it was so peaceful. Definitely one of the most peaceful rooms I've ever had. We set out each morning to explore and enjoyed the local sights as we meandered towards the busier areas - a great contrast and a lovely location.
