Very nice stay at Hotel Antico Doge. The hotel is very central and easy to gey to all attractions. But very easy to miss the entrance. The team at the hotel are very helpful before and during our visit, so if you want suggestions for restaurants, help getting water taxi etc please just talk to them. The room had Venetian decoration, down to a very large chandelier, bed very comfortable and was very quiet at night, we had a room overlooking the courtyard rather than the canal. Breakfast was also better than expected with good selection of pastries, ham/cheese, scrambled egg, bacon as well as bread...coffee was great. Would definitely stay again...also one thing just across the bridge is one of the best gelato places in venice and no queues later in the evening 😋
Hotel Antico Doge is a stunning antique piece The only downside was the room got very hot and the AC was not working A huge shoutout to Afaq at the front desk I still remember his name because he was so incredible , helpful and polite and managed to get me a fan right away The rest of the staff we met during checkout were also very kind. Overall, great service in a beautiful, historic setting. Highly recommend, especially for the top-tier hospitality!
What a fantastic, historic hotel in a beautiful location. The staff were so welcoming and very helpful with any requests/information required. The decor of the hotel is marvellous and really allows you to feel the magic of Venice even from your hotel room. We would like to thank all of the staff for making our first trip to Venice and Antico doge a truly memorable one. We can’t wait to come back in September.
We stayed here for 7 nights. There were several people in our party so we had several different rooms. The location is good. The people very friendly. The not good part was our room was insanely stinky. The sewer stink that came out of the shower drain was unreal! What I did was get a soaking wet hand towel and cover the drain. It helped. The other thing you need to do is run the shower at night for a couple of minutes (move the towel off the drain). Then replace the wet towel over the drain. If you have maid service they will remove the towel from the drain and when you come back it'll be stinky. Soooo stinky. So we put the do not disturb sign on the door handle. So stink solved. The room does have a huge window you can open and air out the room very quickly. There's a lot of foot traffic outside and so you get quite a bit of noise from people walking by, especially on the weekends. It was pretty loud at times. The staff was awesome. The breakfast was good, a little monotonous after several days, but that's a personal thing. Some of the other people in the group said they had no stink in their room, but a couple did like we did.
