Discover ‘Italico Brass. Painter of Venice’ temporary exhibition at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti with this entry ticket. After almost sixty years of inexplicable silence, the exceptional rediscovery of an acclaimed protagonist of the early twentieth-century international art scene: Italico Brass. He made the lagoon and its city the main theme of his works, showing the great love he felt for Venice. An original and modern style that is lively, colourful and imbued with joy, revealing a Venice of ordinary people, of religious festivals, regattas and fireworks. And a lagoon of coloured sails, gardens, fishermen, hard work, lacemakers and blossoming maidens. What is represented in his paintings is a real and authentic city, belonging to its inhabitants. Corti, campielli, rive and callette: a ‘lesser’ Venice, rediscovered in its most intimate dimension. Through an itinerary spread out in seven rooms, it is possible to discover a living and authentic Venice, made up of plays of light and everyday atmospheres.
