Learn about the contemporary architecture of Negozio Olivetti and discover the history of this showrrom-space and its main protagonists: Adriano Olivetti and Carlo Scarpa. Walk under the colonnades of the Procuratie Vecchie where you will encounter a small corner premise that was identified as the ideal building to transmit Adriano Olivetti's company's cultural values in a modern and innovative context that respects the historic surroundings. Marvel at the challenging commission that was given to the Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa, who completely overhauled the original unit with a design based on a brilliant, cutting-edge re-organization of the spaces to re-shape the volumes while making the most of the light and engaging in a dialogue with the decorative elements, using luxurious and sophisticated materials such as Aurisina mabrble or ebony. Negozio Olivetti is the Property of FAI - Fondo per l'Ambiente Italiano, entrusted in concession by Assicurazioni Generali. The interior is presenting the original set-up of the historical Olivetti showroom from 1957-58, carefully restored in 2010, open to public again in 2011. Visitors can learn about this masterpiece by using audio guides or reading materials in Italian or English. The space could in some moments of the year present as well a temporary exhibition.
