Stayed for 2 nights, this is the fifth time we have stayed in this hotel, and it has always been brilliant. Arrival by water taxi is always a memorable experience, we got upgraded to a room with a canal view as it was our pearl wedding anniversary. Room was spacious, beautifully decorated. Breakfast is excellent, the terrace with the views of the Grand Canal only enhances it, unforgettable atmosphere. We had drinks on the terrace, and a fabulous dinner in the restaurant, service was impeccable on every occasion. Location is brilliant, excellent to explore Venice. It’s the staff that are the real asset, always happy to help. No doubt we will return
The front desk staff comes across as cold and somewhat rude. I was traveling with a friend and when I requested two room keys I was told “You get one key”. We felt like we bothered the front desk agent by having to check in. Thankfully it was just a one night stay before a cruise. We did have a wonderful breakfast outside on the waterfront terrace. It was not included but the service and food were memorable.
We recently stayed at this hotel to celebrate a very special occasion, as we had just gotten engaged the day before arriving. Prior to our stay, I reached out to the hotel to see if they could help arrange something small for my partner (fully willing to pay), but unfortunately never received any response. From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. While the gentlemen assisting with our luggage were helpful and friendly, the rest of the staff were quite the opposite. At check-in, we mentioned our engagement, hoping for at least a simple acknowledgment, but it was completely brushed off without even a “congratulations,” which felt surprisingly cold. We asked for restaurant recommendations for our celebration and were handed a map with just two places circled, with no explanation or personal touch. It felt like minimal effort at best. The issues continued at checkout. We had left our bags with reception, and when we returned to collect them, we were left waiting for over 20 minutes. We had a boat taxi booked, so this delay caused unnecessary stress and we had to rush the staff to retrieve them. Overall, aside from the location, this hotel fell far below expectations. The lack of communication, poor service, and indifferent attitude made what should have been a memorable celebration feel disappointing. We regret spending our money here and would not recommend this hotel to others.
Monaco Hotel offers an elegant and welcoming experience with attentive, English-speaking staff who are genuinely eager to provide excellent service. Breakfast was tasty and efficiently seated, with no unnecessary waiting. The rooms are beautifully styled in gold and cream, featuring marble bathrooms and high-quality toiletries that add a luxurious touch. The bed was comfortable for many, though a few guests might find the mattress a touch firm, and the pillows could be more varied in firmness. Housekeeping stood out for its friendliness and reliability. A thoughtful moment I appreciated was when the attendant placed a paper lid over my glass of red wine left overnight—little gestures that enhance the sense of care. Overall, Monaco Hotel delivers strong service, stylish ambiance, and thoughtful touches that make for a pleasant stay. With a few tweaks to pillow and mattress options, it could be even more accommodating for all guests.
