Loved it. Great staff (thank you for the bar recommendations). Lovely rooms and location. Great value. Special surprise was the proximity to the Chabad House and the Jewish Ghetto. You should also let people know how easy it is to get their from the train station. Don't usually get to roll up to my hotel in a boat.
We stayed for five nights in May. The hotel was fabulous. The morning breakfast was a highlight as were the servers at the breakfast. They were so kind and so helpful every morning. We ended up needing a private water taxi at 3:30 in the morning and the concierge at the front desk immediately took care of our request and was so helpful. The location is perfect. You can take a short walk to a fabulous restaurant or take a long walk to a fabulous restaurant! If you are arriving by train, it is a very easy 10 minute walk from the train station. If you’re arriving by boat there are several stops right in the canal out in front of the hotel.
A fabulous hotel in a quieter part of Venice but still plenty of bars, shops and restaurants in the locality. Cannaregio is a beautiful location. Met with reception staff on arrival who were extremely helpful and polite. Our room was beautifully decorated with the Venetian charm overlooking the canal, stunning views. The bed was very comfortable although the pillows were a little too hard for us. Large bathroom, again beautifully decorated. The hotel throughout was gorgeous and immaculately clean. Breakfast was the usual continental offering, all very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Carnival Palace and would highly recommend. We will return one day and most definitely stay here. Thank you to all the staff who helped make our visit to Venice perfect from start to finish.
We stayed here three nights in total for our honeymoon. We took a water taxi from the airport which the hotel had organized. On arrival we were immediately greeted outside to start this special stay for us. The location of the hotel is perfect if you wanna have the possibility to see a bit more of the residential areas of venice which is generally pretty overcrowded in the summer season. There were restaurants very close to us that only seemed to be known to locals and the center of the quarter cannaregio is still only 5 minutes away. Service was great and the room spacious. We had a room facing the canal which was an added plus. Breakfast had everything you couldve asked for ranging from german classics like brötchen to italian sweets. The staff was always very friendly and took good care of us. The hotel bar whilst being a little more pricey made great drinks and did some twists to the general classics. Personal recommendation would be their turn on the spritz which really added more than one might think to be possible with an already amazing drink. All in all we were very happy and can only recommend staying here.
The hotel is in a neighborhood I highly recommend. It was my first time in this area, and I really enjoyed it. The hotel's advantage is its location near the canal used to get to the airport, two public transport boat stations, and the train station, just one block from one of the best restaurants in Cannargigio Agli Archi. The concierge service before your trip and throughout the day is excellent, with staff who speak several languages. The room is comfortable, clean, and has venetian theme but not cluttered decor. It might be a bit small for two people, but it was sufficient for me. The towels were particularly good, and there was a safe and a small refrigerator. I had an unpleasant experience with the housekeeping service. They didn't finish their shift and left the room incomplete. The room attendant took my electricity key, and I returned that night, which I found very inconvenient. The night staff wasn't professionally trained, and everything they did in a two-hour period only made things worse. I'm not giving the hotel a negative review because of this situation. For me, a problem can be resolved, and that's where the manager shows their quality. In this case, the manager never responded to my complaint,Juri Vatova never answered, and if he does now appear with apologies, obviously I won't accept them. I didn't use the breakfast service because I found it expensive, and when I asked what it consisted of, I didn't get a satisfactory answer. Although I didn't see anyone at the bar all week, partly because I didn't use it, it's on the way to the elevators. The bartender was very friendly when I asked for tea bags. There is no room dining service. So, be aware that you shouldn't leave your electricity activation card in your room. If you order something from your room, like toiletries, it will take a long time to arrive, and it might not be complete or it might not be what you asked. It should be noted that traversing the area requires significant walking; most bridges are equipped with steps rather than ramps, and numerous streets do not feature names or signage. The best news is that if you get lost, the locals are friendly. Even if they don't speak much English, they try to communicate and help tourists. I found the people wonderfully pleasant. You can pay all with credit cards, and go to Murano by public transportation, is simple and inexpensive. The art is everywhere, not only in the museums, enjoy the flowers and vegetables stands, the people, the neighborhood far form the most popular places. I am in love with Venice, you will too.
