Description
This tour was created by Francesco and Michael, two locals passionate about Venice’s lagoon and its traditional boats. The bragozzo, once common in the lagoon, is now rare due to the care it requires. By restoring and maintaining these vessels, the guides preserve a piece of Venetian maritime history.
The tour begins sailing through the Northern Lagoon islands, first arriving in Murano. Guests visit a historic furnace to watch master glassmakers create glass objects in a live demonstration. Next, the group heads to Burano, known for its colorful houses and lace-making tradition. Here, there is free time to explore, take photographs, and optionally have lunch at restaurants recommended by the skipper.
After Burano, the tour cruises to Torcello, one of the lagoon’s oldest islands and considered the cradle of Venetian civilization. The route also passes by San Francesco del Deserto, a tranquil island still inhabited by Franciscan friars.
This experience offers a slower, more personal way to discover the lagoon. It is designed for those wanting to escape large tourist boats and experience Venice from its authentic waters, with small groups and attentive service.
