Description
This private tour starts with pickup from your Venice accommodation and visits St. Mark's Square, the political and religious center of the Serenissima Republic of Venice.
Your visit includes the Doge's Palace, the historic seat of government and residence of the Doge. Explore the halls of government and justice, the Doge’s private apartments, the prisons, and view the famous Bridge of Sighs from outside.
You will then continue with an external visit to St. Mark’s Basilica, where the body of St. Mark the Evangelist rests. Admire the golden mosaics depicting biblical stories and the gold altarpiece decorated with enamels and precious stones (entrance is not included).
After the walking tour, you will take a private boat to Murano Island, known worldwide for its glass production. Watch a glass master demonstrate the art of blowing and shaping glass inside a factory.
The tour concludes with a return boat ride through small, lesser-known canals to St. Mark’s Square, courtesy of the glass factory.
