Nightlife in Venice

Venice after sunset flips the script on the city’s daytime calm. Instead of clubs thumping until dawn like in other cities, here you’ll find a more laid-back but no less engaging vibe. The best way to start your evening? Head to a local bacaro (that’s a Venetian wine bar) in Dorsoduro or Cannaregio. Sip on a spritz,while nibbling cicchetti, tiny Venetian tapas,and watch gondolas glide by under the moonlight.

If you’re in Campo Santa Margherita, you’re right in the heart of student nightlife, with bars that spill out into the piazza, lively and casual. Fancy some live music? Venice has lovely spots like Venice Jazz Club or the occasional concert at Teatro Goldoni. And yes, if you’re craving late-night dancing, some underground clubs in Mestre or near Piazzale Roma push the party well past midnight. But remember, Venice shuts down early compared to other European cities, so pace yourself. Oh, and a heads-up: on a warm summer night, grab a gelato and stroll along the Zattere , it’s one of my favorite quiet ways to end an evening here.
