While it won’t be the cheapest drink you’ll buy in Venice, a bellini and finger of croque monsieur (they call it a Pierini) at Harry’s Bar is an affordable way to experience one of Venice’s most famous institutions. Bellinis are small but delicious and service from white-coated waiters is charmingly old-school. This isn’t somewhere to rub shoulders with the locals – Harry’s Bar has always been a haunt for foreigners in Venice. Since opening in 1931 it’s been frequented by royals, artists and celebrities including Ernest Hemingway, Peggy Guggenheim and Truman Capote. It’s open on Sundays too, when many other bars are closed.

What a great experience at the birthplace of Bellini's and carpaccio. We went for lunch and made a reservation beforehand and that is definitely the best move. The service was incredibly professional and it was a one-of-a-kind experience. Highly recommend the upstairs patio.

I have no complaints. We went specifically because they created the Bellini drink and a friend said we had to try it. At 22 euro a glass we were a bit sticker shocked but Venice is extremely expensive so we went for it. The drink was good. I do feel the staff must be sweltering in their uniforms. Fun atmosphere. We didn't have food but everyone seemed to be enjoying what they were eating.

Harry’s bar the infamous home of the Bellini cocktail. Sophisticated, under- stated chic. I booked in advance and we had a lovely corner table. The tables are very intimately close together. We service is welcoming but rushed we had 3 waiters come in quick succession and asked us for drinks. They need to communicate between themselves better. One waiter spilled our wine on the table because he was trying to place it down too quickly. We had bellinis, ordered the bread side its delicious its like a croissant bread roll layers of warm flaky pastry €5 each. You do get complementary bread and breadsticks and butter with mains. We enjoyed the minestrone it was wholesome, flavourful and light. Delicious. Macchiato coffees were great served with a plate of sugar biscuits were a lovely touch. The pinot grigio wines we had were nice too. I recommend a visit. Just know the prices before you go.
