Gio’s is a wonderful restaurant at The St. Regis Venice, set inside a beautifully renovated hotel in a fantastic location. What stood out immediately was the staff. They are genuinely flexible, attentive and truly customer-oriented, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment you arrive. The food was delicious. We especially enjoyed the beef and the paccheri with lobster, both were excellent. The cocktail and wine selection is also impressive, with plenty of choices for every taste. Overall, we had a wonderful evening and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. I would happily return and highly recommend Gio’s to anyone visiting Venice.

Overall, the experience was fine. We had the Harmony tasting menu that combined tastes of Puglia and Veneto. Some dishes were okay while others were a real standout such as their baby squid in black ink sauce and their pasta which highlighted the flavors of the lagoon with mantis shrimp and sea asparagus. Their palate cleanser at the end of the meal was also innovative with a fennel sorbet and briny grapes. Some dishes we could’ve done without such as the basil pesto risotto with grapefruits. I liked what they were trying to do to bring acidity to the creamy pesto dish but risotto was little too Al dente. Their tuna dish has olive oil and a tomato sauce but the sweetness and tang of the tomato sauce overwhelmed the taste of the tuna. In terms of the ambience and surroundings, we were sat right by the service station on their terrace far away from the water which meant constant noise and foot traffic which really detracted from the experience. In addition, while we liked our server, table was not cleared appropriately. I have dined at fine dining and Michelin star restaurants and the staff are almost overbearing with cleaning the table off between courses. Bread obviously leaves some crumbs and we had a dropped piece of tuna (see pic) waited through all the courses for someone to wipe it off and that never happened. So there’s some room for improvement in the finer details of table service. Didn’t hate the experience, but would advise for people to request a better table. There are many restaurants where I would love to return to, and this is not one of them.

A truly unforgettable anniversary dinner at Gio’s, The St. Regis Venice Our dinner at Gio’s was one of the most beautiful dining experiences we have ever had. The St. Regis Venice has a very special kind of hospitality — elegant, warm, refined, and deeply personal. From the moment we arrived, we felt that we were not simply having dinner, but being taken into a different world: the water, the atmosphere, the food, the service, and the timeless Venetian spirit all came together perfectly. Venice would not feel complete without The St. Regis. This hotel seems to capture everything that makes Venice unforgettable — the beauty of the lagoon, the sophistication of the cuisine, the romance of the setting, and the hospitality traditions rooted in genuine care. The food at Gio’s was exceptional. Every dish had flavour, balance, creativity, and elegance. The atmosphere was refined but still warm and relaxed, making it the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. We are especially grateful to Domenico, the Assistant Manager, Enrico, the Gio’s Restaurant Manager, and the wonderful team who looked after our table, especially Veronica and Beatrice. Their kindness, attention to detail, and genuine care made our anniversary feel like a dream come true. This was not just dinner — it became one of the most memorable moments of our time in Venice. Thank you to the entire Gio’s and St. Regis Venice team for creating an experience we will always remember. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Venice and looking for a truly special dining experience.

We had a wonderful dining experience here. Beautiful views and the food was the best we had in Italy. I got the blue lobster pasta and my husband got the octopus and both were absolutely delicious. The tiramisu dessert was also the best my husband has ever had (he never likes tiramisu). Our water, Tobia, was kind and attentive. We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Venice!

Was here for birthday celebration, how sweet they gave me a small desert served as birthday cake. Food is nice, but portion really too little, this will directly make me think of the price a bit overpriced. Staff are nice, but to take note outdoor a bit of cold, if feel cold they will provide you blanket 🥹
