It has been four years since I last visited this restaurant and honestly was really good. It is just as good this time around as the first time. The pasta dishes are really tasty and they are really consistent with the flavours. I appreciated the free grappa and dessert after our meal, a perfect end to our dinner. The only thing I would say is it would be good to be told that the water they put on the table once you arrive is not the usual free water but that you would be charged for it.

WOW what a find. This incredible little restaurant packs a punch. Their house beer and Pinot Grigio were very impressive but not as impressive as the food. The lamb chops were perfectly cooked. The gluten free carbonara was next level. A really great experience with fabulous waiters. You must stop here while in Venice. It’s a little gem

Food: I got the carbonara, best carbonara I tried in my life, rich and fatty made in the correct way with guanciale and egg yolks. 100% recommended. One of my friends got the gnocchi bolognese but he was not really happy about it. My other friend for the seafood risotto and they were really happy with it. Everyone is given ham and croutons at the beginning and liqueur and biscuits at the end for free which was really appreciated. Service : The service was tricky, some servers were very nice and friendly but others were as if you forced them to talk to you. The server that got our order left without asking for drinks, then it took us a while to get the other servers attention. Theres one server, Roman who was really pleasant to interact with and talkative, he saved our impression of the restaurants service. Atmosphere: the restaurant is located next to the channel which makes a nice scenery and there is a nice view. The interior has lovely wooden furniture and has nice music.

Trattoria al Gazzettino was a perfect spot for our last dinner in Venice. The food and service were great! Our waiter, Roman, was so welcoming and helpful. Great spot for a casual dinner. The homemade Nutella cake was my favorite! They even gave us complimentary dessert shots!

Tonight we walked over a few canals, down a cobblestone path, and through a dark alley before arriving at Trattoria Al Gazzettino for dinner. I had eaten brunch earlier in the day and nothing else, so by the time we sat down, I was ready to attack the menu like a tourist chasing the last water taxi. I started with the fresco, which was made with fresh tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, greens, and a few olives scattered around the plate. We were hungry, and this dish completely missed the photoshoot because we dug in immediately. After sprinkling on a little salt and pepper and drizzling some balsamic vinaigrette over the top, it was game over. The freshness of the tomatoes and mozzarella made this simple dish hard to beat. For my main course, I ordered the spaghetti with clams, and overall it delivered. The pasta was flavorful and cooked well, but the chef left a few clam shell fragments hiding in the dish like little landmines waiting to crack a tooth. The clams themselves could have used a better wash because a few bites were a little grainy from sand. Not enough to ruin the meal, but enough to notice. The waiter was also a little rude, but at this point I’m starting to think that may just be part of the regional dining experience over here. The indoor seating area was nice and nearly full by the time we left, which usually says something good about a place. Overall, I’d give it about 3.5 stars out of 5. The food was solid, especially the fresh appetizer, and the atmosphere was good. A little attitude adjustment in the front of the house and a better clam wash in the kitchen would push this place up another level.
