Trattoria Al Poggio
Venice
Beoordelingen
Great food, hospitality, and prices. We came back twice for the fish soup. The cuttlefish pasta was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Al Poggio seriously has the best fish soup in Venice. We are here the first night, then had it at a few other places but ended up coming back. The staff are super friendly, ambiance is great, food is rich and they are also open late. I will definitely come back to Al Poggio whenever I’m in Venice! Make sure you try the fish soup.
We were surprised to find a nice place for dinner right along this busy street. Not all restaurants in this area are great, but this one definitely is! It was only a few minutes away from our BnB. And we've just spent the whole day in Burano and were pretty tired. So we came here to get a good meal. Our Bulldog was also more than welcome, got treated very very nicely! Had some oysters and mixed fried seafood for starters. For the mains an anchovie pizza and a grilled seafood platter. A bottle of nice Valpolicella with the meal. All dishes were very tasty. The oyster fresh and creamy. The fried seafood fresh, hot and crispy. The Pizza looked simple, but was excatly what we've wanted: Loads of mozzarella and some nice anchovies on top. It was a really good pizza! Hot, creamy cheese, crispy - and baked perfectly. The seafood platter was another hit. Good quality fish and seafood. Nice, fresh and not overly spiced, so we could enjoy the nice seafood flavour. Staff here did a great job, took care of us very well. We felt welcome and at home. It's a very cosy place, nice Italian Trattoria feeling inside (they've got outside tables as well). Had a table by the window, nice to watch the world go by. We really enjoyed our dinner here. Price was really fair, came together at around 120 Euros. Two starters, two mains, sparkling water and a bottle of wine. Surely a place to come back to whenever we're back in Venice.
NOT WORTH THE MONEY I did not get why the rate for this place is 4.5 The Margerita is totally different from the pictures and not even close to authentic italian pizza. It looked it was an oven made pizza from the grocerie store. The pasta was not bad but not as goodas the reviews say. IF you want an AUTHENTIC italian this is NOT THE PLACE! the service was not bad.
