This restaurant was outstanding!!!! The food was amazing!!! We got fried Calamari to start and then my mom got the shrimp and zucchini risotto, and I got the chicken alfredo. Michele was absolutely amazing and we HIGHLY recommend this restaurant to anyone who visits Venice!!!! It is located on a more hidden side street and we came later in the night around 9:45pm and it was not crowded, so much better than the super touristy places on the main streets. Thank you for a great experience!!!
I admit that I really wanted to try some American Italian foods so I came here for the Fettuccine Alfredo. I've been to Italy a dozen times and have not encountered that dish until now. So I had to try it to see if it tasted like the US version. The dish was not as heavy in sauce as the US version. The taste is similar but not exactly the same. Has a more local flavor to it. More buttery and less sauce. Give it a try if you want to compare it to the US version. A fair warning, I had absolutely no cellphone service inside the restaurant. Probably due to it being situated between two buildings. If you have the option to sit close to the window or outside, that's a better option if you want cellphone service.
This was my favorite restaurant from my trip to Venice. It’s tucked away in a small alley, very close to the train station. The Spritz was super refreshing. The pasta was perfectly seasoned and very flavorful. The biggest surprise for me was the cuttlefish — savory and delicious! I even used bread to soak up every last bit of the sauce. The dessert was rich and creamy without being overly sweet. From drinks to mains to dessert, every single dish was excellent!
We came for dinner all 3 nights of our stay in Venice. That. Excellent. Try everything. If you can, make a reservation. Apps: we loved the bruschetta and the cod with polenta Mains: the pasta dishes are all great. You just can't go wrong with any of them. We tried the Bolognese, the squid ink with cuttle fish and the prawns. Especially excellent was the grilled calamari. Wines: except and interesting Desserts: try them all especially great was the Tira Misu (hope I spelled that right). The atmosphere really enhanced our enjoyment of our meals. First it was relatively quiet relative to the number of people. Second, you could hear the excellent roots music (jazz/blues). Finally, there is interesting art on the walls. It's the whole package here.
Absolutely fantastic experience. From the food, service, ambiance, wine! Truly the best way to start our Italy trip with amazing authentic fresh flavors. The pasta was cooked perfectly and I could eat the Tagliolini with cuttlefish ink and tiramisu everyday. If we’re in Venice again, we would definitely come back. Not only for the food but the service we got. Everyone there had such good energy and my husband and I had so much fun! Highly recommend!!
