Hidden gem along the water front of just steps off the Rialto bridge on the Grand Canal. This is where all the gondoliers come eat their meals and rests. Authentic, local, excellent, and great value. The seafood is fresh daily from the famous seafood market a few blocks away. This is our must-stop lunch spot. Excellent stop mid-day when it's full sun for people watching, especially if you're waiting out the occasional rain storms. Our favorite server Claudio is very experienced and knowledgeable. He expertly debones a whole fish, preserving most of the filet with no bones. Since he does it quickly, the fish is still hot. Anything seafood will not be a disappointment. Must trys: - Large selection of mix raw fish from Rialto Market €39.80. Oh my goodness. As good as it looks. The oysters are probably some of the best you'll eat in all of Venice, commercially known as La Mignon, is an Italian domestic excellence bred in the Sacca di Goro (Delta del Po). - Frito Mixto (Mix fried Fish with battered vegetables €33.00) Not a single bad bite. The fish filet and fresh sardines are the highlights - Sliced tuna in pistachio crust on sweet and sour orange sauce €32.80. Side of the fork glides easily through the tuna. My husband needed to hold my hand while he takes a bite as he closed his eyes. That good. Get an inside table. Enjoy the A/C, free wifi, clean restrooms, and sit under the locally made Murano chandelier.
La Porta d’Acqua was one of the highlights of our time in Venice. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, with charming canal views that create the perfect setting for a memorable meal. The staff were exceptional every waiter was kind, attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. The service was warm and professional, and the overall experience was outstanding. If you’re looking for delicious food, a wonderful ambiance, and one of the most picturesque dining spots in Venice, I highly recommend La Porta d’Acqua. We will definitely be coming back!
We had many recommendations of where to dine in Venice. We tested them all out and none were impressive. LA PORTA D'ACQUA is a true Michelin star quality restaurant. Lorenzo was our server. Great guy, great service, the most beautiful view. Truly, the best food experience we have had so far.
Highly recommend. We reserved a table a couple weeks in advance for 8 guests for a front row table beside the canal. We arrived a bit late because of our train but kept contact with the restaurant. When we arrived the outside table viewing the canal was set and ready. I had the Ravioli filled with sea bass sautéed in amalfi lemon sauce. It was incredible. Freshly made pasta, the ravioli is hand made and the service was flawless. When we got there we told them we only had just over an hour and they timed everything perfectly. Every dish was incredible. Prices were a bit higher than usual but considering the view and even better food with great service.. it was well worth it. I highly recommend and would give more stars if I could. This was overall, a memorable dining experience. We’re halfway through our trip and this is going to be impossible to beat.
One of the best casual restaurants near Realto bridge in Venice. Chef is very professional and honestly recommends only the best dishes. Seafood is amazingly fresh! We are here for the second day in a row. Vines selection is nice! Chef Enzo was so kind to offer a tasting options of private cellar vintage vines. But I chose a young 2020 Amarone to match veal medallions. Truly recommend! Good choice for reasonable price.
