This is the best meal I’ve ever had! I will come back to Venice just to eat here again!! Get whatever the owner recommends. A MUST if you get the chance!
Wow. What a divine, authentic Italian restaurant. A big thankyou to Isabella who walked us through the menu and suggested her favourite dishes that were her nonnas recipes. We are harsh critics when it comes to food and this restaurant exceeded our expectation. We had stuffed zucchini flowers, raw fish selection, lasagna and the tiramisu. It brought me back to my own nonnas cooking and was not just a beautiful meal, it was an experience of nostalgia. Wine was also delicious as was the coffee. If you are in Venice, you must eat here. Book in advance.
Wow! We ended up enjoying this restaurant 2 times in a 3 day visit. Why you ask? First, Isabella the owner, her daughter and son-in-law made both experiences personal. Isabella shared the history of restaurant(s)! What an entrepreneur- building not just a local but an international demand along with her family. So impressive! As the owner of the restaurant(s) for the last 30+ years,, we of course took Isabella’s recommendations! Absolutely spot on With what a hot day in Venice called for a late lunch - a Tomato-Cucumber Gazpacho and a super fresh Carprese Salad with Buratta Cheese with 15 year old balsamic. Our entrees were the pastas we enjoyed were what we had waited for our entire 4 week travels! Perfection on Lasagna and the Agnolotti meat pasta with Parmesan cream/foam sauce. Wowza! Last but not least was the perfect Mascarpone cheesecake with fresh fruit. Not at all Heavy and sweet like a NY Cheesecake just perfect in its balance between creamy and sweet.
The food was great, and the service was friendly and welcoming! We had the stuffed zucchini flowers, lasagna, pesto Casarecce, and the creme brûlée. The service was exceptional. Jessica and her daughter felt like family. They were very friendly and gave us great suggestions. A must stop while in Venice.
We made a reservation for dinner and only time available was 7 pm, however, was not too busy so maybe we could have made for later if we asked. The setting is modest. The food was excellent and service was efficient and friendly. We did have to wait longer than one would expect for, first the check then the card machine. The price was 168 euros for 2 with only 2 aperitif and one casa da rosso. However, the food was fantastic especially the stuffed zucchini flowers and the angliotto meat past. Also the burrata with tomatoes was amazing as well as the veal cheek. We did not have desert as we were too full but I’m sure they would have been amazing. Everything is homemade and good. We would recommend for authentic and classic food.
