Service was outstanding and our lunch was wonderful. My boyfriend and I sat outside underneath the umbrella and enjoyed sandwiches and cocktails while listening to live music. Be sure to go inside to see the lavish interior of this 18th century coffeehouse.

Caffè Florian is so much more than a café—it’s a piece of Venice’s history. Founded in 1720, it is one of the oldest coffee houses in the world, and every detail makes you feel as though you’ve stepped back into the glorious days of La Serenissima. (Florian Venezia 1720) The live music creates a magical atmosphere, transporting you to another era and making the entire experience feel like a dream. The café has a unique charm and elegance that simply can’t be described—it truly is a story in itself. We absolutely loved the overall vibe, and visiting Caffè Florian was one of the highlights of our time in Venice. An unforgettable experience that everyone should have at least once.

Beautiful, historic Cafe with luxury period rooms from 1720. Charming, romantic setting reminiscent of old warm charm from the times of Casanova. This place is so special for anyone who loves Italian beauty, history and coffee. This place would be on my Top 10 list if only the food quality matched the interiors and high prices. I love Old European Cafes, their traditions and their signature dishes and really dont mind paying higher prices for something authentic and special because for me is an experience. Coffee- Cappuccino was just ok, their "best dessert" - Tiramisu Semifreddo was a disaster. Ad the name suggest- texture should be semi frozen not rock solid frozen . It looked beautiful but had no texture or taste, very dissapointing. I bought Venetian Rose Tea, it was very good.

The only reason the visit was enjoyable is because of the person I went there with. There’s an hour wait and you’re rushed as soon as you start entering the overcrowded and overpriced caffè where some staff does not even speak English - it’s a bit of a shame when the goal is to cater to tourists. There is no feeling that locals would ever sit in here. The first things you see when you are ushered in is the merchandise they sell. Then you’re seated like sardines, given outdated menus, rushed to order and then ignored once you have your “silver platter”. Also, I asked for a tea for 2 and we were brought 2 teas. The vulture in charge (who was hovering over tables and asking every passing waiter if this or that table paid) said it’s because there’s only 1 cup of tea per teapot. The tiramisu was disappointing but okay. The panna cotta pastry was quite lovely. A table next to use had a British couple where the man was very sad to see his 13€ tea came from a tea bag. Another table was forced to order 3 scoops of ice cream because they do not sell individual scoops. At another table there was a woman reading a book for 30 minutes while waiting for her husband and son to return. The presentation is lovely but that’s really it. Even the toilets are uncomfortable to use and do not feel clean. That place would be worth the hype with a few less tables, friendlier staff, and less pretentious approach to their content. Just because they sell a branded cup for 50€ does not mean their china is anywhere close to expensive.

Caffe Florian in Venice is an experience that blends history, elegance, and exceptional hospitality. As one of the oldest cafés in the world, its legacy is felt the moment you step inside—ornate interiors, classical artwork, and a timeless ambience that transports you to another era. The staff’s gracious and attentive service adds to the charm, making every guest feel welcomed with genuine warmth. The dining experience is refined, with beautifully presented dishes that highlight the café’s commitment to fine dining. And of course, no visit is complete without trying their tiramisu—rich, delicate, and absolutely delicious. It’s truly a must-try. Florian Café is more than a place to eat; it’s a Venetian institution that delivers culture, flavor, and unforgettable atmosphere in every visit.
