Had an absolutely delightful meal at La Vacaria. The servers were very attentive and recommended cuts of steak based on our preferences. We eventually had a relatively small cut of Simmental which was cooked to perfection: slightly charred, tender, and flavourful. The sides were also executed well, especially the baked potatoes. Just as we were already pleasantly surprised we were given complimentary limoncello to finish. Truly a gem in Venice!
Our experience at La Vacaria was absolutely amazing. Tucked away from the busy tourist areas, this hidden gem offered a peaceful and authentic atmosphere. The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared, and every dish exceeded our expectations. The staff was warm, (specially Mateo our server) welcoming, and provided excellent service from start to finish. If you’re looking for a true local dining experience away from the crowds, La Vacaria is definitely worth visiting. We will absolutely be back!
This is basically a high-end steakhouse located in Venice have multiple steaks to choose from my wife decided to have tagetelli along with the m arugula and parmesan salad and share the steak with me. It was a little undercooked for her, but the steak was great to me. Also ordered the what I thought was baked potato when it turned out to be what we would consider roasted potatoes. Multiple choices of wine available and finished off the meal with a complementary glass of limon-cello. The service was excellent, very attentive. We made reservations but I think for the night we really didn’t need them as we ate early. Meat lovers come in and enjoy!! Credit or cash accepted. Easy to chat and enjoy the ambiance.
This was the best meal we had in Venice, hands down! The staff were kind and helpful, and supported us as tourists with lots of questions about the menu. We enjoyed our steak, french fries, and steamed veggies, and the panna cotta and tiramisu were delicious! The best panna cotta we’ve ever had. The staff provided us with a complimentary appetizer, and limoncello after the meal. It was truly a lovely meal, I highly recommend this La Vacaria to anyone visiting Venice 🇮🇹
We received an exceptionally warm welcome and very friendly service from the moment we arrived. Compared to many other restaurants in Venice, this was a very pleasant surprise. The staff were open, attentive, and genuinely kind - not in a forced or overly polished way, but in a way that felt natural and sincere. We had not experienced that anywhere else in Venice so far. In many touristy restaurants in Venice, you quickly notice a certain distance or arrogance - as if guests are interchangeable because there will always be more tourists walking in anyway. Here, it was the exact opposite. From the start, we felt truly welcome. The food was excellent as well. We were there on a Thursday evening around 8:30 pm, and both the waiting time and the overall service flow were really optimal. We had a Burrata Caprese as a starter, a large steak as the main course, and several side dishes. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted outstanding. What stood out in particular was the quality of the ingredients. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar served with the Burrata Caprese were so good that I actually took a photo of the brand so I could order some bottles for home later. The wine list also deserves praise - not huge, but very carefully selected, with a genuinely excellent choice of wines. Another thing we appreciated was the portion size. We shared the starter, and it was more than enough for two people. The same was true for the side dishes: both the salad and the fries could easily be shared. The fries were clearly homemade too - real cut potato pieces, not some standard frozen product. You can tell that the kitchen really puts in effort. The location also adds to the experience. In the evening, the area is calm, much less touristy than the city center, and overall far more relaxed. There is a canal nearby, and you also see many Italians walking past, which adds to the atmosphere. For us, this was one of the best restaurant experiences we have had in Venice. We will definitely come back again during our holiday. Highly recommended.
