The benchmark of primo Italian cooking is that the calamari comes tender and melt in your mouth, not chewy like a rubber band. The Linguine della mare was bellisima! The food at Trattoria Romano was one of our top meals during our trip. Some of the one star reviews are just batty. "The risotto was just rice" lol. Well, yes. Risotto is rice and you order other things (secondo piatti) with it in classic Italian style. Tell me you've never had Italian without telling me you've never had italian. Yes, the prices are $$$$. You are having a delicious meal on a little island only servicable by boats during the high tourist season. 10/10 would eat there every single night.
Wonderful seafood. We got the seabass and it was marvelous. My kids got shrimp risotto and it also was magnificent.
A historic restaurant with a lot of global popularity. The environment is wonderful and the service was excellent. The food, even better! The house seafood risotto was my favorite. We also got the grilled sea bass and paired this all with an excellent wine from the Trentino region. The wine was recommended by our waiter, and it might have been one of the best white wines I’ve had 👌🏽 We finished this off with a tiramisu, and an espresso of course. I can highly recommend this restaurant. You should make reservations in advance.
Had appetizer, primi, and dessert with wine. Enjoy all of the seafood dishes, and the meringue lemon cake,and the amarone that was identified for us. Very historic with lots of art on the walls. Restrooms were very clean and staff spoke excellent English and were attentive. Nice place to take a mid day meal while on burano.
We dined at this historic seafood restaurant and were amazed by its story. The walls are covered with artworks left by artists who once exchanged their paintings for meals. This 100-year-old, four-generation family-run restaurant offers fresh, flavorful seafood that truly reflects Venetian tradition. The food was excellent, friendly staffs and the atmosphere made the experience unforgettable.
