One of the most popular restaurants near the train station that is NOT a tourist trap. Pretty decent food options, specifically the seafoods are superior. A bit pricy but it is worth it. It gets filled up with people fast and seats are often reserved for locals at night. PLEASE RESERVE YOUR SEATS and arrive on time if you want to have a taste.
We had a great meal at Trattoria Bar Pontini during our time in Venice. We ordered the tagliatelle with mushrooms and scallops, the squid ink pasta, a steak, and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was cooked really well and seasoned perfectly. The tagliatelle was one of the best pasta dishes we’ve had in Italy so far. The mushrooms and scallops worked really well together, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. The squid ink pasta also stood out, with a rich seafood flavor that wasn’t overpowering. The steak was cooked just right, and we finished the meal with the tiramisu, which was one of the best we’ve had in Venice. It had a great balance of coffee, liqueur, and creamy mascarpone flavor without being too sweet. Overall, the food was excellent, and we’d definitely recommend Trattoria Bar Pontini to anyone visiting Venice.
Omg. Best meal we had in Venice!! We didn’t make reservations because we weren’t sure our plans for the day. But we decided to stop in. They told us it wouldn’t be possible to have dinner that night as they were booked full but we could wait in line if we want to. It could be a long wait. As soon as we were about to walk away they were able to get us a table outside. We were thrilled. My husband said the seafood lasagna was one of the best meals he’s had in his life! And he’s had a lot of great meals 😂 my seafood pasta was amazing too!! Also ordered the tiramisu and I pretty much ate the entire bowl myself. Everything was yummy! Thank you for taking care of us!
First restaurant we tried in Venezia & WOWWWW so so soooo delicious! The best pasta I’ve had in Italia 🇮🇹 Vanessa took such good care of us, literally a 5 star experience! It was full when we got here but they managed to get us a table within 5 minutes. We are so happy with our experience! Grazie mileeee ❤️
We have too much love for this restaurant and just cannot stop coming back!! We basically had breakfast (twice), lunch (twice) and dinner here. We even took away lunch for our train ride. They make the best cuttlefish spaghetti and fish risotto. The side bread and house wine are also yummy. I loved the sandwich for breakfast. Portions are generous, much larger than we can finish, but we always end up finishing it (that’s what happened to the tiramisu). We love the vibrant vibe that the staff build up for this place, and the authentic taste of food that tastes like Italian granny’s recipe. I hope this restaurant lasts forever :) (the chefs and staff along of course!)
