This is a wonderful restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere. The service is professional, the food is absolutely delicious, and the wine selection is excellent. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance, as otherwise you may have to wait in line for a table. However, the food is definitely worth the wait. We had a great experience and would happily come back again.
We enjoyed our wedding anniversary dinner at Osteria Fanal del Codega very much, it was definitely our favourite meal of our three night trip. We started with a bellini and a limoncello spritz, both of which were very nice. We both had the risotto with red prawn bisque as you need a minimum of two people to order. It was absolutely delicious. So full of flavour with perfectly cooked rice and very nice prawns. We finished our meal with tiramisu which was the nicest we had during our stay, perfect ratios of creamy filling and sponge fingers. Just delicious! The service is great too, everyone is very friendly and attentive. We made a reservation in advance which is probably necessary as it started to get busier the longer we were there. We ate indoors which was a welcome break from the heat outside! Would absolutely recommend.
Best meal we ate in Venice! My wife and I have very different food tastes (she said I could say that…). It can be hard to find a restaurant that caters to my desire to eat local and fresh, and her desire to play it a little safer. This restaurant absolutely did the job for us! We were seated quickly without reservation (but I would recommend one) and were blown away by the service and the food. The seafood soup is the best of its kind that I’ve ever had - truly something to write home about. We also had the cuttlefish and truffle pasta with sausage - all tremendous! My wife ordered the scallop appetizer, which was not to either of our tastes, though we did not feel a need to mention it during our meal. We finished with a tremendous homemade tiramisu that we would come back for in a heartbeat. What a wonderful find! We would recommend this restaurant whole-heartedly!
The food is delicious and the service is top-notch. The one downside is that we happened to go on a night where a group of 20 had a reservation so it did take us about 30 minutes to get a table even though we had previously reserved one. Initially they put us in the table right at the door but the waitress promised us that she would move us to a waterfront view once one became available and they actually followed up on that, which we were very impressed by. Next let's get to the food. It was delicious, paired with a nice red wine. Almost everything on the menu was incredible. We had the lasagna, the beef ragu, and some tiramisu and were impressed by everything that we got. The waiter came to check on us several times, which was an outlier in Europe as we typically had to call to ask for service whereas here it was quite proactive. The ambiance was awesome and there were several people seated about a foot away from us having interesting conversations. We were visiting for our honeymoon so for us it was just a nice romantic experience in Venice right on the canal. Overall I would highly recommend this location and I would also recommend booking a reservation in advance in order to secure a table as it is both busy and delicious.
Fantastic restaurant - we reserved a table outside by the canal and it was lovely. If you want to sit outside it’s better to reserve as it was getting very busy towards the end of the night and staff were scrambling to serve / find tables for those waiting. The food was fantastic. Drinks too - we had different spritz’s which were all lovely, coffee was fabulous. Great experience and would recommend this restaurant!! The staff were also so very lovely and attentive despite being super busy.
