This food was incredible!! I highly recommend bruschetta, carbonara, and meat sauce! Best bruschetta I have ever had by far! They weren't busy at all and the staff was so friendly. Definitely visit this place!!!!
Amazing food and fabulous hosts. The Lasagna was the best one we had ever tasted, the spinach and ricotta ravioli we amazing and the wine was delicious and very reasonably priced. We found this little gem on our last night or we would probably have eaten here every day.
A perfect experience/Un'esperienza perfetta. We were here in 2019. We came back to find it again, and we were surprised that the decoration and layout had changed, even of the entire bar fixture. I asked the owner (Vasco, I think) what had happened. He explained that the whole restaurant had flooded during the acqua alta in late 2019, and also had an electrical fire as a result. He rebuilt half of the restaurant, a lot of it on his own. This is the kind of dedication and spirit that Venetian restaurant owners have. It is deep commitment and love, and incredible fortitude even during a flood and crisis. Beyond impressive. Needless to say, because of that, the food and service had the same passion built in. The food was phenomenal. The owner had a great sense of humour and was playful and upbeat. All the guests visibly had a great time. --Grazie a Lei, Vasco, soprattutto per Il Suo senso dell'umorismo... per me, uno degli aspetti più importanti di un ristorante è l'atmosfera e il servizio. We are so glad we got turned away from a couple of other nearby places and found Taverna Barababao (off the beaten path). Loved eating with the locals, they welcomed us and treated us to a delightful dinner. We loved our meal and would highly recommend.
