Antico Calice VE

This place came highly recommended by the locals, and it absolutely delivered. The grilled octopus was tender, and the seafood linguine is a standout dish for both pasta and seafood enthusiasts. My husband and I would have came back if we had that chance.
beautiful food & great service! highly recommended - risotto is vegan/gluten free and is lovely. also we had the vongoli pasta and the meat balls. house wine is lovely too. just amazing local good!!
Delicious food with great service. Normally I don’t accept “suggestions” from people who work at restaurants, because they normally suggest the most expensive item in the menu. When we ordered the fried squid, our waiter recommended the fried soft shell crab and it was DELICIOUS! All the food was fantastic, nothing like it in the US :)
Antico Calice VE is a restaurant that is often rumored to be frequented by local fishermen, and the quality of the food makes that reputation very believable. The atmosphere feels authentic and relaxed, with a strong focus on fresh ingredients and honest cooking rather than anything overly touristy. I ordered the squid ink pasta and the vongole bianco. Both were excellent, but the squid ink pasta was absolutely outstanding. The flavor was deep and rich, perfectly capturing the essence of the sea, and the pasta itself was cooked just right. It was easily one of the best squid ink pastas I’ve ever had. The vongole bianco was light, elegant, and full of clam flavor, making it a great contrast to the richness of the squid ink pasta. To finish the meal, I had the tiramisu, which was also exceptional—smooth, well balanced, and a perfect ending. Overall, this is hands down one of the best restaurants in Venice, and I would happily come back again. If you’re looking for truly memorable Italian seafood pasta in Venice, Antico Calice VE is a must-visit.
What a fantastic spot! The food we ordered, including the crispy fried small fish, and grilled octopus, was truly delicious, and nicely plated. Even the pasta dishes, like the dark squid ink spaghetti and the wide paccheri pasta, were executed well. This is definitely a place that takes its ingredients and preparation seriously. The experience was great for the wallet, too. The prices were very decent and felt entirely reasonable given the elevated level of the food and the overall atmosphere. We enjoyed the wine. The staff were attentive, the food at other tables looked excellent too. If you are in the area and looking for an authentic and satisfying dining experience, I absolutely would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone.
