We were recommended this special little place by friends.. it was a bit far but we made it in time. The food was excellent. But I would like to say the dining experience was very poor. Our waitress was extremely rude. We had one vegetarian guest with gluten intolerance, so her requests were a little special. Our waitress was so off handish. When we asked for ketchup with her chips - she didn’t bother, the person on the next table passed it on.. and when two of us finished our main course, we had to ASK for our friend’s vegetarian meal.. she said oh you were on your first course. Well.. she could have been polite and asked.. but anything we tried to ask her.. it was met with an eyeroll and walking past. We were brown skinned so it felt like she was being racist.
A local neighborhood osteria that had the best seafood options! The food was served fast and hot, with right portion for two, though we were hungry and ordered a lot. We absolutely enjoyed our spaghetti, squid salad and tiramisu, and loved the little lottery at their WiFi loading page.
After visiting Florence, Rome, Tuscany and visited so many restaurants, I’ll say this one has the best pasta during my 2 weeks trip. Please try the shrimp one with tomato sauce, the shrimp flavor blends into the sauce and reaches perfect harmony. Tiramisu is also one of the best in the trip.
This is an absolutely unexpected dinner experience in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood of Venice—well worth the journey. It looks out onto a beautiful neighborhood park. We ate here twice, it was so good. It features local, elevated Italian food and not pizza/pasta with meatballs slop common to tourist restaurants. It has an excellent selection of dishes with meat, fish, and vegetables, and daily specials and desserts, as well as regional wines by the glass, carafe, and bottle. Also beers, cocktails, etc. A very good value for Venice. Reservations are recommended because they were turning away walk-ins on both nights we visited. It’s now our happy place to eat when visiting Venice!
I had to basically negotiate my way into this restaurant… and now I understand why. Out near the Lido side of Venice, tucked away from the heavy tourist crowds, this place feels like you’ve stepped into a completely different version of the city. The streets open up, there’s a local market nearby, and the whole area has this calm, almost “private island” energy to it. No canals right next to your table, no chaos—just space, locals, and a real neighborhood feel. And getting in? Not easy. They actually shut down for a period during the day, and unless you’ve got a reservation—or you know how to finesse one—you’re probably not getting seated. But once I got in and sat down, it all made sense. The ambiance is exactly what you want from a true Venetian osteria. Relaxed, authentic, and completely unforced. Nothing about it feels staged for tourists. It feels like a place people who live here actually go to. Then the food hits—and that’s where everything locks in. The seafood pasta with mussels was fresh, clean, and perfectly balanced. Nothing heavy, nothing overcomplicated—just quality ingredients done right. The shrimp spaghetti came with a rich tomato base that had depth without being overly acidic, coating every bite exactly how it should. The fried bites? Crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside—executed at a high level. Even something as simple as the bread and olive oil told you everything about the kitchen—simple, but high quality. The service was impeccable. Attentive without hovering, smooth timing, and genuinely welcoming. They treat you like you belong there—even if you had to work a little to get in. At the end of the day, this isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience. If you’re looking for something fast, loud, and tourist-driven, this isn’t it. But if you want authentic Venetian food, incredible atmosphere, and a setting that actually elevates the entire experience, this is absolutely worth it.
