We read the reviews before going and saw such positive comments on the service and our night started similarly. Very friendly, attentive and accommodating. The starter arrived quickly and was beautiful. The taste was okay and perhaps slightly above average but certainly not worth the cost. This was the first of every single dish that was beautiful, but under seasoned. It also lacked any real variation in texture. The lobster pasta was decent but some of the lobster was slightly over cooked. My wife ordered a Coke with no ice and it arrived with the cup filled with ice and lemon. Not the biggest deal, but for a restaurant that prides itself on service and charges a premium, the little things matter. Then again when the second bottle of Coke arrived from the same person, it came with another glass with ice. Then we waited a full hour for the main course. We weren’t in a hurry as it was our 30th anniversary which they knew. But after 40 mins without a server checking on us, we asked when it would arrive and they said 5 minutes, but it was another 20 before it arrived. The plates looked beautiful but were again under seasoned. When we were done, they saw that my wife barely touched her meal and asked why. When we said that after an hour of waiting she really didn’t have an appetite for it any more we got an “oh”! Not sure why they even bothered asking. I strongly recommend stumbling across a random restaurant on the streets of Venice instead of spending your money at Lineadombra.
Outstanding in every way. The setting is wonderful, especially if you’re lucky enough to be there around sunset. The staff have that awesome combination of professionalism and friendliness. As to the food, well don’t they conjure up creative and delicious things, particularly with seafood.
The atmosphere and views at Ristorante Lineadombra were incredible! It was so beautiful and relaxing. We sat on the patio and watched the boats and people go by. It was a short walk from our hotel which was convenient. The food was beautifully presented and enjoyable. My favourite dish was the burrata on artichoke hearts. The flavours paired beautifully together. The service was attentive and friendly. The indoor dining looked quaint and well laid out. There aren’t a lot of seats inside so a reservation is highly recommended. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to enjoy some delectable bites you should definitely check it out
We reserved months in advance and paid €80 to ensure a special terrace experience on our last night in Venice. We arrived enthusiastically to discover the terrace closed and Rosalia unwilling to seat us outside because of forecasted rain within the hour. We knew if bad weather, the restaurant must move us inside, but the skies were clear. We asked if they would instead open their large terrace umbrellas should rain actually arrive, but they said no. Our choice was to sit inside (for which, after our dispute they would refund our reserve fee) or leave and forfeit our fee. We stayed and had a delicious meal while watching other patrons complain about similar circumstances. We left our table frequently to step out on terrace and snap photos of a beautiful sunset. It never rained and skies stayed clear. Upon check receipt, we had to remind Rosalia to process our refund, which she ultimately did but says we won’t receive for 10 days and no receipt could be provided. A very tasty but disappointing evening. We will tell all our friends to choose another, more respectful location for their special evenings in Venice.
I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation and its reputation, but to be honest, the food didn’t quite live up to the expectations. The dishes felt a bit too bland and lacked depth of flavor. That said, the presentation was nice, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. The view is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience enjoyable in other ways.
