Lovely experience and food!! Pasta was delicious. They're known for their Carbonara but I loved thr Ravioli!! A tad oily but nonetheless still a delectable bite.
This place was absolutely wonderful. They accommodated a larger party right away and the food and service was phenomenal. Askon took such great care of us. We highly recommend this restaurant as a must try gem of Venice.
Great dining experience. Every staff are so friendly and warmth. They’re so welcoming and sweet. The food was ok but not disappointing. I guess I am just expecting too much cause I was looking forward to an authentic Italian taste. But still we enjoyed our meal.
Great food, but with some clear downsides. The quality of the dishes is genuinely excellent. The Picanha was practically perfect, the carpaccio was a generous portion and very good as well. The carbonara is truly impressive, and the tiramisu, even though served in a glass, was outstanding. One major downside is the coperto of almost €7 per person, which is not clearly communicated in advance. For that price, you only get some bread and olive oil that is not even from Italy (olives from EU and non-EU). That is simply not justified. Also, the usual limoncello after the meal was not offered, which is disappointing at this price level. The service was overall rather average. Despite having a reservation, we still had to wait several minutes. This is especially frustrating since you are required to leave your credit card details when booking, with a €40 no-show fee if you do not stay. Other guests were even less lucky and had to wait up to 30 minutes. The ambiance is also quite mediocre. All seating is outside, very close together, and it feels more like mass processing than dolce vita, which is a shame given how good the food actually is. Conclusion: The food is truly great, but pricing, service, and ambiance significantly bring down the overall experience
I visited this restaurant for lunch and had a generally good experience. One thing to keep in mind is that all the seating is outdoors. This can be very pleasant in good weather, but if it’s cold, it might be a bit uncomfortable. In terms of service, I interacted with two waiters, one was very friendly and welcoming, while the other was less so. That said, it seemed like they were quite busy and possibly under a lot of pressure, so I expected a bit more friendliness, but it’s understandable. As for the food, the steak was excellent, high quality, served with a very delicious sauce, and definitely the highlight of the meal. The carbonara pasta was good and met the expectations of a typical Italian restaurant, but it wasn’t particularly memorable or unique. They also served bread with olive oil, which was simple but very enjoyable and added a nice touch to the meal. Overall, this is a solid, good-quality restaurant. You can expect a pleasant experience with good food, especially if you’re in the mood for a nice outdoor lunch. In terms of pricing, it’s similar to other restaurants in Venice. However, as a general rule, restaurants in Venice tend to be more expensive compared to other cities in Italy.
