Marco Polo
Venice
Recensioner
This review is for the restaurant Marco Polo in Venice. We came in for the 2 course special that offered some good options for first and second courses. The first course offered pasta that was delicious both the spaghetti with bolognese and the seafood. Prepared with just the right amount of portions. The sauce had excellent flavours. The second course options we selected were the grilled fish fillet and the calamari. The calamari was nicely breaded but the portions were too small. I would have liked to see more. The side dish options weren't great. The grilled fish was also a small portion and the greens weren't impressive. If the portions of the second course were larger and the side dishes were more than mixed greens and french fries, we'd be pretty happy overall. Still good value for 18 Euros per person.
It is very hard to find good food in these big cities that are not a tourist trap. This was by far the best meal we had in Venice. Absolutely delicious and fresh pasta dishes and seafood. Highly recommend!
Only praise! An authentic atmosphere, fast service, and incredibly delicious food! After a walk through Venice, we stopped by here and managed to get a table without a prior reservation, which was excellent. We had pizzas and were not disappointed — they were typical Italian recipes made with high-quality ingredients, so there were no complaints at all. The place was clean and well-kept, and the waiter was kind and smiling. Highly recommended! 👋👋👋
My best restaurant experience in Italy for my 10 days trip. I have found it by pure luck as I was wandering in the streets at night. I had the best carbonara of my trip. Then, the tuna tartare, one of their specialties, followed. Fresh, perfectly balanced and supported by a glass of chianti. I could not missed their tiramisu which was like everything else, more than what I could have expected. Ricardo and Andrea offered a very nice service. The grappa at the end was mandatory. I will come back!
I had been here maybe 15 years ago and wanted to see if it was as good as I remembered. Indeed it was. Some of the best pasta we had in our entire trip (mine was some sort of gorgonzola and guanciale, my husband’s was truffle) and great service too. Perfect lunch after a morning exploring the Rialto/San Marco area
